Man forces Ex-girlfriend to drink acid, told police he suspected she was in a relationship with someone else




19-year-old young lady was left hospitalized with a burnt throat and face after her former boyfriend forced her to drink acid on Wednesday, March 22, in south Delhi's Sangam Vihar, India.
Having received around 20 per cent burns, the woman
, Muskan (not real name), is undergoing treatment in the emergency ward of AIIMS. She is expected to survive even as the doctors are yet to find out the extent of damage to her internal organs.

The alleged attacker, 22-year-old Ravi Kumar made her drink acid near her house. Her parents said no one in the neighbourhood came to her rescue. Kumar, managed to escape from the spot after the crime, but surrendered at Sangam Vihar police station, said Romil Baaniya, DCP (South-East). 
Kumar told the police that he was angry as he suspected Muskan to be in a relationship with someone else.

He also feared that her family was set to engage her to someone else.


The woman, the sole bread earner of her family, works at a footwear manufacturing unit in Sangam Vihar. She lives with her mother and two siblings. Ravi lives two lanes away and works as a tailor.

US president  Donald Trump’s frequent travel, large family and unusual living situation is apparently weighing heavily on the Secret Service’s budget. According to a Washington Post report, the agency recently requested an additional $60 million in spending for fiscal year 2018. Nearly $27 million of that was to be earmarked for security at the president’s private residence at Trump Tower in New York, where first lady Melania Trump lives with their 11-year-old son.
